Bakuchiol has several side effects. Thankfully, using it topically presents fewer side effects than taking it orally. Some side effects include mild skin irritation, such as redness, peeling, dryness, and swelling. However, most patients report fewer of these side effects than they do with retinol products! When they do experience them, the side effects are also not as intense. However, patients who do experience significant or prolonged skin irritation must visit a dermatologist or doctor!

Patients must only apply products with this ingredient where necessary. They must also talk to their doctor about how long to use it. The reason is that prolonged use increases the risk of side effects!
